is the designer and author for the Mbox project and is currently living and working in north Portugal.
Jeremy completed his academic study in the UK and Portugal: Master of Arts (MA) at the Royal College of Art, London 1996; Bachelor of Arts (BA) Design for Industry at Northumbria University, Newcastle Upon Tyne, 1994; Specialist Title in Design from the Porto Polytechnic Institute.
For the past 20 years Jeremy has consulted, coached and collaborated with many international companies and academic institutions, gaining experience in various design areas including the consumer electronics and furniture industries.
In 1997 Jeremy cofounded simplidesign.com and together with his team has designed over 600 projects for well known brands, innovating products, furniture and interiors.
During the late 1990’s Jeremy travelled and worked
in central Europe, and his inspirations for this
project came from a combination of professional
experiences (designing consumer electronics for Grundig)
and visual references from the towns and cities
he stayed in.
However, the concept was not fully realized until 2011, when the first Mbox design was debuted at the Lisbon Design Show and selected for the ideal home exhibition.
Mbox is designed with an architectural feel; with solid geometric volumes floating on light structures, resulting in a technical looking furniture for a modern life-style. Excellent for professional or domestic use in homes, offices and hotels.
